Tai Chi Qigong Workshop

Join instructors Alissa Powell and Bee Morris for a revitalising three-hour Tai Chi Qigong workshop.
This workshop offers gentle movement, calm focus, and a deeper sense of connection between body and mind.
The session begins with a flowing Qigong warm-up to awaken the body, release tension, and steady the breath. You’ll then be guided step by step through a sequence of Tai Chi movements — a graceful, meditative Tai Chi sequence designed to enhance posture, mobility, and inner balance. With its calm rhythm and simple flow, this sequence is perfect for beginners yet remains deeply rewarding for those with experience.
To close the practice, you’ll be led through a gentle qigong and standing meditation, allowing the benefits of stillness and gentle movement to settle within. Afterwards, enjoy a cup of soothing herbal tea and some delicious homemade healthy treats in good company.
INTRODUCTION TO YANG STYLE TAI CHI
This Tai Chi workshop is for all levels and experience, from true beginners to those looking to refine their practice. Students will learn a fluid series of Yang-style movements, which includes roughly 10 of the foundational movements from the traditional 108 Long Form. Yang style is the most widely practiced form of Tai Chi in the world today. It was developed by Chinese martial artist, Yang Lu Chan, in the 1800’s. Though Tai Chi has its roots in combat and self-defense, it is now practiced for its many health benefits.
CONTINUING PRACTICE
You will be provided with a video to continue your practice, and returning students will have the opportunity to join further workshops at a reduced rate.
Whether you’re just beginning or wish to deepen your practice, this workshop offers a welcoming space to move, breathe, and reconnect. By learning this sequence of moves, you’ll discover a beautiful flow you can continue at home to support balance, vitality, and overall wellbeing.
Experience how Tai Chi and Qigong can gently become part of your daily life — helping you reduce stress, nurture health, and cultivate lasting inner calm.
