Tai Chi Workshop: Yang Style 16 Form

Learn Yang Style Tai Chi in friendly, structured Saturday workshops for beginners and improvers
Discover the joy of Tai Chi in a series of welcoming monthly workshops designed for beginners and those wishing to deepen their practice. Whether you’re brand new to the practice or returning to refine your knowledge, these sessions offer a supportive space to learn, grow, and feel good in your body.
Taught by Deyin Institute–trained instructor Alissa Powell, each workshop blends clear instruction, mindful pacing, and a friendly atmosphere that makes Tai Chi accessible and enjoyable to learn.
Yang Style 16 Form/16 Movements
The Yang Style 16 Form offers a beautifully expanded Tai Chi experience, blending accessible movements with a deeper sense of flow, coordination, and mindful presence. With sixteen graceful postures, this form introduces more turning, stepping, and expressive transitions than the 8 Form, giving practitioners a richer taste of Tai Chi’s signature softness and power. It’s still wonderfully beginner‑friendly, yet provides enough nuance to keep more experienced students engaged as they refine balance, posture, and breath awareness. Practising the 16 Form feels like moving meditation—steady, fluid, and grounding—making it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a restorative practice that gently strengthens the body while calming the mind.
Important: It’s recommended that you can comfortably perform the 8 Form without guidance before progressing to the 16 Form.
